Practically, however, you might not want to go nude except where it's the norm. No doubt that the Dutch are very open minded and offers a lot of options for naturists. You're Dutch and we don't care to dispute your figures! Suffice to say, both Spain and the Netherlands have a lot of nude beaches, never mind per capita ratios! Are you sure? The Netherlands counts for at least 30 or 40 legal nude beaches and that's not including 'illegal' nude beaches. Take into consideration that Spain counts 46,6 million inhabitants and The Netherlands 'only' 16,6 mln. So my guess is that you are not pretty well informed here. I believe in fact that The Netherlands has as many nude beaches as France while France (643.427 km^2) is over 15 times larger than The Netherlands (41.528 km^2). No offense however. Nude Regards! The rest of Europe is struggling with old constitutions and legacy laws. This leads to a top down system in the rest of Europe and does not reflect true public opinion. We should all be supporting this action as it will impinge on European law and therefore on member nations - remember in Ireland it is not allowed to have naturist (lifestyle) or nudist (liking being naked) beaches! Do what you can to support Spain and any other organisations and individuals otherwise as Luis Perez says the authorities will chip away at us and not allow naturism in your own garden or home even. Our favourite is Camping Naturista at El Portus which is about 10 miles south of Cartagena city in the region of Murcia, southeastern Spain. This is very much a family site where females feel really safe and many Spanish ladies come here to sunbathe on the beach on their own or with female friends. This is, without doubt, the most Natural Naturist place. Why do the Americans insist on calling it "Nudism"? Naturism is the obvious name as it is so Natural to be naked when the weather is conducive. Remember, we only took to wearing clothes when we had to move away from our original habitats. There are many Naturist beaches in Spain and Naturist Campings. My husband & I regularly go to Hendaye on the French/Spanish border on the western seaboard & the naturist beach there is populated more by spaniards than french! The fact that there are no nice beaches on the spanish side of the border for over 50 miles may have something to do with it. I would argue that France has more naturist beach space than Spain, practically the entire stretch of coast from Hendaye up to the northern end of the Venday region is nude these days, not to mention the several naturist villages/resorts along this coast! Spanish women seem to have embraced naturism BIG TIME!
