“Ask Nudist Day” is a series where our readers can ask us anything as long as it has to do with naturism/nudism. If you have any questions of your own, write to us via our contact form.

A reader sends us this question: “I always thought that one of the big things with nudist(s) is that they are open to people, (as) they really are…I am finding that this is not true. Most of the resorts that I have contacted do not allow body jewelry below the waist…Body jewelry is becoming a part of our lives for both men and women. Yet I can not go to many resorts because of it. Nudist Day…Tell me why.

Yes, rest assured, nudists do accept you as you are, naked, pure and equal! It is true that many private clubs don’t allow patrons to have genital jewelry. The keyword here is “genital”. Naturism is all about not being ashamed of what we are, but by the same token, naturism isn’t about sex. Genital piercings, just like penis rings, focus attention on a person’s sexual organs.

If this jewelry is removable, then the easiest solution is for you to remove it when you go to nudist clubs. If you can’t or absolutely refuse to, then these adornments that you hold so dear are all that stand between you and meeting some of the nicest, sincerest people you’ll ever encounter. That said, the policy against genital jewelry isn’t a nudist “law”, but up to each club, and not all clubs prohibit such things, contrary to your belief. Visit the rules or FAQ page of each club’s web site to find-out their policy. You can also go to any nudist beach without a problem.
