If nudity should be a sensible option in this world, never more so than when doing exercise! Ancient civilizations such as the Greeks understood that, and didn’t wear a thing when practicing sports. The Olympics were done nude, why not now? Gymnos, the Greek root of the words gymnasium and gymnastics, means “naked”, not surprisingly!

Of course, not all modern sports lend themselves readily to nudity (unless you’re a spectator!). Football for one, requires ample armor, and while I’m sure some nudists have played baseball nude, I suspect a few regretted it! That said, visit practically any nudist resort or community and there’s almost always tennis courts and a spot for volleyball, as well as a gymnasium.

The gymnasium is the perfect place to be nude, although every club we’ve seen makes it optional, as some people still think it’s unhygienic to use gym equipment sans attire. This would be true except that if you’re a typical nudist, you’re the furthest thing from a slob. Proper conduct dictates that you shower before using the gym, that you clean the equipment before and after using them, and that you drape a large towel wherever you sit, so that neither your back or behind touches anything directly. These measures only add a few minutes to your entire exercise routine.

Truth be told, exercising nude results in a lot less sweating, and thanks to how fresh it makes you feel, you can actually push yourself a little bit harder. Another advantage is that you can always see, via the gym’s mirrors, how well all of your muscles are responding to your efforts.

So…get naked and exercise!
