MORRISTOWN – The Dan Speers Studio in Morristown, New Jersey, informed Nudist Day that on June 16, 2007, they will host a second naturist kirtan led by Gandharva. A kirtan is a spiritual event characterized by chanting. The school also offers naturist kirtans led by Robin Renee (see links below).
Gandharva (his spiritual name), candidly said in his newsletter: “Okay now I have been naked before, and I have chanted before, but I have never been naked and chanted at the same time before! This should be interesting, talk about letting go completely!” .
Dan Speers describes Gandharva and the event: “Gandharva is very energetic and lively during a performance. He calls his style of chanting Ecstatic and this is quite the truth. When he was here you could see the energy and passion in his singing – it fills the room and perhaps the entire neighborhood. Sarah Tomlinson and Param Joseph Rosolen accompany Gandharva. Sarah cues the audience to respond to the lines of the chant that Gandharva sings. Param plays percussion including drums, bells and other interesting instruments.”
“I believe Naturists are a great audience for this type of chanting. We are already more connected to our whole selves and I think are able to appreciate experiences that help to awaken more of the self.”, Speers adds.
