CALIFORNIA – Bay Area Naturists, a nudist group in the San Francisco area, organizes nude hikes twice a year to Bass Lake in the Point Reyes National Seashore, a popular skinny-dipping spot since 30 years ago. The next walk is scheduled for May 12, 2007, and involves walking only 3 miles each way.
Trevor Murphy, organizer of the event, tells us that anywhere from seven to thirty people participate in the hike. Nudism is legal at Bass Lake, and many in the group disrobe on the trail as soon as they’re within a reasonable distance from the trailhead. Hardy types can hike an additional 1.5 miles and enjoy Alamere Falls. Murphy stresses that park rangers are very tolerant of nudists, but not of dogs, so leave your pets at home!
Murphy’s group is affiliated with The Naturist Society and also hosts nude private parties. The group does not discriminate based on gender in all of its activities. For details, visit their site at the link below.
