María Dolores Jiménez, a councilor in Lepe (Huelva province) unwittingly unleashed a war of words between Spain’s two leading political parties, the populist PP and the socialist PSOE. She did this by posing nude for a local magazine, “Lepe Urbana”, in January.
Spain is a country where public nudity is legal and you’ll find the most nudist beaches of any place in the world, yet her tasteful, non-erotic nude photos have riled the PP, the party to which she belongs, to the point where they recently announced she wouldn’t be allowed to run in the next municipal elections. Furthermore, the mayor of Lepe has “stripped” her of most of her functions. She’s received tremendous support both from the public and the opposing party, the PSOE. Perhaps it’s time she crossed party lines. |
