Naturists are generally mindful of the ecosystem, as was evident this past Sunday (March 4) in Australia, where it was Clean-Up Australia Day. Our source, Rob Stephenson, spokesperson for the Victoria chapter of Australia Free Beaches Association, participated in the clean-up operation at Point Impossible beach.
His crew of twelve nudists filled fourteen garbage bags provided by the community with rubbish collected from the officially nudist beach. The press covered the event, showing beach users in a positive light. The media in recent times has been mostly focused on the forces vying to have the beach’s legal status revoked. The event was, Stephenson says, a “demonstration that we’re prepared to work responsibly with local coast care authorities to preserve and protect the beach.”.
