Ask Nudist Day: Where can one go Nude in Barcelona, Madrid & Seville?
“Ask Nudist Day” is a series where our readers can ask us anything as long as it has to do with naturism/nudism. If you have any questions of your own, write to us via our contact form. A reader named Panky wrote to us: “We’re a couple, me 59 male and she 52 female, propose to visit Barcelona, Madrid and Seville next summer. Please advise me on the nudist places like beaches resorts and clubs where we can roam about freely together in the nude and can interact with them…”
Fortunately, as we’ve mentioned often in these pages, Spain is probably the most nudist-friendly country in the world. It isn’t illegal to be nude in any public place, be it any beach, or the middle of Madrid, although it’s advisable to only be nude in areas commonly used for that purpose, be it beaches or clubs.
For nude beaches, Barcelona has Playa Marbella, about a 20 minute walk from the Poblenou subway station. Bring a good street map along, as it’s not easy to find! There are also many beaches where nudism is commonplace just outside the city. Madrid and Seville are cities in the dry interior, thus there are no beaches to speak of. While there’s thousands of nudists who live in these metropolises, there aren’t any places we know of in either where you can go nude, except for nude swims at pools in Madrid during the winter as well as nudist get-togethers hosted by Madrid’s AANUMA non-landed club.
Spain has the most to offer to nudists on its southern coast, the “Costa del Sol”, including self-contained nudist communities in both Vera and Costa Natura near Estepona, places where you can be nude 24-7. Thus you might consider making a side trip southwest of Seville.
When you write “and can interact with them”, we trust you mean socialize. In general, nudists are very friendly and socializing comes naturally. That said, however, it’s important to always respect the privacy of others.
