Tunick’s Mexico Shoot Postponed One Week

MEXICO CITY - Photographer Spencer Tunick had previously announced that his Mexico city installation would take place April 28th and 29th, 2007, but that has now been postponed until May 6th. The reason for the delay was apparently to obtain more volunteer participants. Tunick is looking to surpass the previous record of 7,000 nude models, established during the Barcelona (Spain) shoot.
Tunick told the Mexican press that it now looks as if they will break the Barcelona record. He also reiterated his desire to use the Teotihuacan pyramids, just outside the city, as one of the backdrops, although he wouldn’t confirm that he had been granted permission to do just that. The exact location of an installation is usually kept secret until one week before the event.
